Watercolors of Glory (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and aims to handle personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you when you visit www.watercolorsofglory.com, make a purchase, join our mailing list, enroll in a course, or book a retreat.

Watercolors of Glory is operated as a sole proprietorship by Kristen Lazarini.

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with our website and business.

Information you provide

We may collect:

  • Contact information: your name and email address when you purchase a product, contact us, or subscribe to our newsletter.

  • Order information: billing and shipping addresses and information needed to process and fulfill purchases.

  • Optional phone number: if you provide one, we may retain it with your order information and use it when reasonably necessary to resolve a delivery or fulfillment issue, particularly when email communication is unsuccessful.

  • Retreat booking information: details needed to manage your reservation and organize your stay.

  • Emergency and dietary information: emergency contact details, allergies, dietary requirements, and other relevant health-related information you choose or are asked to provide for retreat planning and participant safety.

  • Course account information: an email address and account credentials used to create and access an online course account.

  • Communications: information you include in emails or other communications with us.

  • Marketing preferences: whether you subscribe to or unsubscribe from our newsletter and related preferences.

Please provide only the health-related or emergency information reasonably needed to organize your retreat participation.

Information collected through website use

When you visit our website, certain information may be collected automatically by Squarespace, Google Analytics, Pinterest integrations, or other enabled technologies. Depending on the tools and settings in use, this may include:

  • Device and browser information.

  • IP address or approximate location derived from it.

  • Pages visited, referring websites, interactions, and time spent on pages.

  • Cookie identifiers or other online identifiers.

  • Product or website interaction information used for analytics or product sharing.

The precise information collected depends on the settings of the relevant services. We will update this description if our tracking practices materially change.

2. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Process and fulfill orders.

  • Take payments, manage bookings, and maintain transaction records.

  • Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and service-related communications.

  • Operate course accounts and provide purchased course access.

  • Manage installment payments and address failed or overdue payments.

  • Organize retreat accommodation, meals, activities, and relevant safety arrangements.

  • Respond to questions, complaints, refund requests, and damaged or incorrect order reports.

  • Send newsletters and marketing emails where permitted and consistent with your preferences.

  • Understand website performance and improve our products, services, and website.

  • Share product information with connected product-sharing services.

  • Protect our business, website, customers, and systems against fraud, misuse, and security problems.

  • Meet applicable legal, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations.

We do not need to use every category of information for every purpose. For example, emergency contact and dietary information is collected for relevant retreat arrangements, not for ordinary newsletter marketing.

3. Email Marketing

We use Flodesk for email marketing and newsletter communications. Names and email addresses may be transferred to or stored by Flodesk for these purposes.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in the message, where available. Even after unsubscribing from marketing emails, you may still receive necessary transactional communications about purchases, bookings, payments, or course access.

We will handle marketing communications in accordance with applicable requirements.

4. Payments and Transactions

We may accept payments through Stripe, Square, Venmo, Zelle, and cash, depending on the transaction.

Electronic payment providers may process payment details and other information according to their own privacy policies and service terms. We do not intend to collect or store full payment card details ourselves when those details are handled directly by a payment provider, but the actual processing arrangement depends on the payment method and configuration.

We may retain transaction records needed for order fulfillment, accounting, customer service, dispute resolution, and legal obligations.

5. Order Fulfillment and Gelato

We use Gelato for print-on-demand fulfillment. To fulfill applicable orders, information such as the customer's name, shipping address, order details, and information about the purchased product may be provided to the fulfillment provider.

Shipping carriers or other service providers may also receive the information necessary to deliver an order.

We aim to share only the information reasonably needed to fulfill the relevant purchase.

6. Retreat Bookings and Sensitive Information

To organize retreats, we may share participant names and relevant booking information with hotels, retreat venues, and other providers involved in accommodation or activity arrangements.

Where necessary, we may also share relevant allergy, dietary, or health-related requirements with a venue or meal provider so that they can help accommodate the participant. We may use emergency contact details when reasonably necessary for retreat administration or an emergency.

We aim to limit such sharing to information relevant to the arrangement. Please understand that hotels, venues, restaurants, transportation providers, and other independent businesses may handle information under their own privacy practices.

We do not intend to use retreat health-related information for unrelated marketing purposes.

7. Squarespace, Analytics, Cookies, and Pinterest

Our website is hosted through Squarespace. Squarespace and its enabled features may process information needed to operate the website, manage accounts, support transactions, and understand website usage.

We use Google Analytics to understand website activity and performance. Depending on the configuration, Google Analytics may collect usage information, device information, online identifiers, or other analytics data.

A Pinterest tracking or product-sharing connection is installed, according to our current understanding, to share product images and product information. The exact information processed by that connection depends on its configuration and Pinterest's technical practices.

We may use cookies, pixels, tags, or similar technologies provided by our website platform or connected services. These technologies may support essential site functions, analytics, or product-sharing features. The technologies actually used depend on the website's current settings and integrations.

Our Squarespace cookie banner is currently turned off. We are reviewing the website's tracking and privacy settings to determine what notices or consent controls are appropriate for the services enabled and the jurisdictions in which we operate or serve visitors.

Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent before using non-essential tracking technologies. You may also be able to control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.

8. Other Connected Services

We use or have identified connections with other services, including ManyChat and Tailwind. We understand that ManyChat helps direct interested people toward our email list; our current understanding is that visitors do not enter their personal details into ManyChat as part of this process.

The exact information accessible to each connected service depends on its integration and configuration. We will review these arrangements periodically and update this Policy when necessary.

We do not represent that every connected service receives every category of personal information described in this Policy.

9. Sharing Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients when reasonably necessary:

  • Website hosting and platform providers.

  • Payment processors and payment services.

  • Email marketing and customer communication providers.

  • Analytics and product-sharing providers.

  • Print fulfillment companies and shipping providers.

  • Hotels, retreat venues, and other providers involved in retreat arrangements.

  • Professional advisers or service providers assisting with accounting, security, administration, or legal obligations.

  • Government authorities or other parties where disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law, or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. Certain advertising, analytics, or tracking activities may nevertheless be treated as “sharing,” targeted advertising, or a similar regulated activity under some privacy laws. We will assess applicable requirements based on the tools and settings actually in use.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including fulfilling purchases, managing bookings and accounts, responding to customer requests, maintaining tax and accounting records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations.

Retention periods may vary depending on the information and purpose. We may retain certain transaction records for longer than ordinary communications where required for recordkeeping or other legitimate business needs.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, we will take appropriate steps to delete it, anonymize it, or otherwise handle it in accordance with applicable requirements and our operational capabilities.

11. Data Security

We take reasonable measures appropriate to our business to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

No website, transmission method, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. We cannot promise absolute security, but we aim to use appropriate safeguards and to address known security issues responsibly.

Please protect your course account credentials and avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through ordinary email.

12. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correction, deletion, a copy of certain information, or limits on particular processing activities. Some rights are subject to exceptions and verification requirements.

You may also unsubscribe from marketing emails as described above.

To make a privacy request or ask a question about your information, email k.lazarini@gmail.com. Please describe your request clearly enough for us to identify the relevant information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on certain requests.

We will respond in accordance with applicable requirements. We do not promise that every request can be fulfilled in every circumstance.

13. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are intended for a general audience and are not knowingly directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through services intended for them.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can review the situation and take appropriate steps. Where a course or retreat has specific age requirements, those requirements should be stated on the relevant offering page.

14. International Visitors and Data Transfers

Watercolors of Glory operates from outside the United States at times and serves customers in different locations. Our service providers may process or store information in countries other than the country where you live.

Privacy protections and legal requirements vary by jurisdiction. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will take the steps required for the relevant processing activity.

15. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our website may link to or integrate with third-party websites and services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Policy.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third-party services you use to complete purchases, access external platforms, or interact with linked websites.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy as our business, services, technology, or legal obligations change. We will publish the updated version on our website and revise the “Last updated” date.

If a material change requires additional notice or consent under applicable law, we will take appropriate steps.
