Explore the Deep
(Inspired by Psalm 104:25)
This piece was born out of a deep love for exploring—stepping into places that feel vast, colorful, and full of wonder.
There’s something about encountering a new landscape that awakens both joy and curiosity. The richness of color, the sense of movement, the mystery of what lies beneath the surface—it all invites you to look closer, to linger a little longer.
Psalm 104:25 speaks of the sea, “vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number.” That idea stayed with me as I created this piece—the beauty of a world so full, so layered, and still waiting to be discovered.
For me, exploration isn’t only about the physical places we go. It’s also about going deeper—into creativity, into stillness, into faith. There is always more to uncover, more to experience, more to be revealed.
This painting is an invitation into that space of wonder.
To explore.
To notice.
To be reminded that both the world around us—and the life within us—hold a depth that is still unfolding.
Explore the Deep won honorable mention at the 2025 Juried Fall Show in Lufkin, Texas.
