A Better Country was painted from a place of deep memory and deeper trust.
Years ago, our family was called to leave the country we loved and step into the unknown—learning to live as strangers in places that were never meant to be permanent. It has been a life marked by both beauty and uncertainty… of open doors and unexpected losses, of being rooted and uprooted again.
And through it all, one thing has remained steady—
the presence of God with us in every step.
This piece reflects the place where our story began—East Texas. The long summers, the wildflowers, the shifting seasons, and the people who shaped us and sent us out. It will always feel like home.
But this painting also holds a deeper truth…
that even the places we love most are not the final destination.
We are all, in some way, longing for something more—
a home that cannot be taken,
a place that will not fade.
“For here we have no lasting city… but we seek the one to come.” — Hebrews 11:14–16
