Sometimes life leads us into places we never expected—
places that feel heavy, uncertain, and hidden from view.
This piece was inspired by the moment Peter returned to his boat after everything had fallen apart. After the failure, the denial, the silence… it must have felt like the end of his story.
And then—Jesus came to him.
Not with rejection, but with a question:
“Do you love Me?”
Three times the question was asked.
Three times Peter answered, carrying both his love and his failure in the same breath.
What moves me most about this moment is not Peter’s weakness—
but Jesus’ pursuit.
He knew exactly where to find him.
He knew exactly what his heart needed.
And He called him forward again with a simple invitation: Follow Me.
As I painted this piece, I found myself in that same tension—
of loving, failing, and being called forward anyway.
This painting is a reflection of that truth…
that we are not lost beyond reach,
that we are not defined by our worst moments,
and that His invitation still stands.
“Do you love Me?” — John 21:15–17
