Preparing for the Harvest
The local rice farmers work long hours each day. They cast seed into the field and wait to see what sprouts. They gather each new rice plant and then place them by hand in a prepared field. The fields have been flooded with water in preparation for the new sprouts. Each new plant needs its own space to grow and produce rice. The care that goes into raising rice amazes our family. Recently my kids and I had the privilege of planting rice alongside our hardworking neighbors.
