Preparing for the Harvest

from $22.00

Rice farming is a rhythm of patience, care, and quiet endurance.

Each season begins with seeds scattered across the earth—small, hopeful beginnings that are watched and tended as they begin to grow. When the shoots are ready, they are gathered and replanted by hand into flooded fields, one by one, each given space to take root and flourish.

It is slow, intentional work. The kind that cannot be rushed.

Living here has given our family a deep respect for the hands that sustain this land. Recently, my children and I were invited to step into that rhythm ourselves—to stand ankle-deep in the fields and plant rice alongside our neighbors.

This painting is a reflection of that experience…
of shared labor, of humility, and of the quiet beauty found in work done with care.
